Hi all,

I am about to apply for ILR next week. But I a not sure whether to send the application by post or go in person.

1 ) The main point I am thinking about is that if I send by post (as per ukba website) the application can take 6 months, that means I'll get ILR stamped in say May-June 2012?

2) Does this means my Citizenship application will be application after May-June 2013?

And if I go in person, I will get ILR stamped immediately and thus qualify for Citizenship by say Jan-Feb 2013?

Is my understanding correct that I'll gain few months for Citizenship application by going in person (PEO)?

According to your previous post you are on T1G for 5 years right?

I am no expert but I think you are right, the 1 year between ILR and naturalization starts from the day you get your ILR not the day you applied. But unless you wish to leave UK after that, not sure what the difference is.

Because of some personal reasons, I want to get it as soon as possible..

I would suggest going for PEO so you can get the decision on the same day.

Applying by post and then you will have sleepless nights for months and months

Then Premium Service it is, gonna cost you but save you a few month.

It’s only few hundreds more but it’s worth it.

Moreover the postal service takes 4-6 months which is rediculous. In case of an emergency you are left with no option but to withdraw your application, which may even take some time.

In my opinion, considering your personal requirements, going for the premium service is the best option. And you can get appointment almost in 2-3 weeks.

That’s true; you can book appointments 42 days in advance.

1. Also remember that PEO does not guarantee same day visa as if HO wants to carry out any further checks then u will not be given a visa on the same day.
2. Not saying that it will happen but if you search this forum it has happended to many applicants who applied for the same day but HO wanted to do extra checks and hence no visa was issued on that day.

any idea whats the current turnaround time for ILR applications??

The few are many for some

That’s true aditipritam but when you compare it to months of stress, frustration and sleepless nights, you think it’s worth it.

And do I need to carry 4-5 years or bank statement or just for 12 months? Just read few post here, people saying they carried 4 years of bank statement??

You need bank statements for last 12 months which will use to claim salary points. You also need to have P60s for last 5 years (pay slips not needed if you have P60s).

I don't have P60 for all the years, but I've asked for 'Employment History' from HMRC. Hope that will be sufficient.
