Hi,

I am on Tier-1 Visa which is valid till July 2013 but I am eligible for ILR in coming March. We are blessed with a baby boy recently. I know that my kid is eligible for Citizenship once we get the ILR but I don't want citizenship to my son too.

I am in the process of applying an Indian passport to him with High commision Of India,London. Once we get his passport, we are thinking to apply for ILR for all of three ( Me, my wife & son ).

My Q is , do I need to get his dependant Visa done before going for ILR or Can I straight way go for ILR for him?

Please confirm.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

If your child doesnot need to travel out of country and re-enter UK on Indian passport; then there is no need to get dependant Visa, you can apply for ILR directly.
