Hi Guys,

First of all i do apologise if this is a repeated post, I just couldn't find what i am looking for in existing posts!

Well, I am Egyptian I came in UK under HSMP on 2008, renewed it and got my Tier1 on 2010.
In my initial application i used a letter from my university stating that my studies were in English. In my tier1 renewal i got an IELTS certificate.
My question is what about ILR? Do i need IELTS or the "life in the UK" test is enough?

Thank you in advance.

As you said, you have taken IELTS (I know that is valid for only 2 years), for Tier-1, there is no need to take the same exam again. instead for people on Tier-1, just a Life in UK test pass letter is sufficient evidence for english language as well as for the knowledge of life in uk.
