Hi All,
I am finishing 5 years in March 2012(Tier 1 visa expiring in may 2012) and would like to apply for ILR. I just wanted to confirm that my 5 years count as I was on work permit for 2 years + 3 years Tier 1 visa.
Can someone please confirm?
Many Thanks

WP can also be counted towards your 5 years to ILR.
You can apply for ILR 28 days before the 5th anniversary of your entry to UK. (this is the date you first entered UK on WP).

accordding to a news letter.. home office gave a period of three months for ppl who came late to UK.. if they are within three months they are qualified for ILR..
so 28 days before the 5th anniversary might not be true always..
am i correct?? my whole ILR application is based on this

Just apply 28 days before your existing Visa expires ... as the others said, WP (2yrs) + Tier 1 (3 years) = 5 years is what you qualify for.
You don't say when in May 2012 you expire, just calculate 28 days before the expiry date and apply.

my visa expires in 15th may 2012 but I finish 5 years in 10th March 2012. So do i qualify for ILR 28 days before the 10th of March(somewhere in Feb)?
I landed in UK around same date.
I don't have to wait till May when my visa expires right??
Thanks

Correct.
My visa expired on the 21 March 2012, but I completed 5 years before this date and did my ILR on the 31 Jan (yesterday), so you can apply after you've done 5 years, so you could apply now if you wanted too.

Ashubhatt, you can find documents required in guidance notes and from application form, there are so many other posts on this website where you can find other people past experiences and documents they have submitted.
hope that helps.

I will Thanks Guys
Another query which I just realized:
My Uk Workpermit started from 23/03/07 but I entered UK on Visitor Visa on 11/03/07 which had a expiry date of 24/03/07.
I didn't get stamp at the Airport when I entered (I remember entering without any immigration check) from Ireland (my previous working place).
What would be my 5th anniversary date?
Do I still qualify applying for ILR before 28 Days?
Thanks again all
