I have had a mixed results from my search within this forum and thought of posting this as a new thread.
I am very soon becoming eligible to apply for 10 yr long residency ILR. Currently on T1 General. I wanted to understand, what all does (if any) HO/CW consider to be genuine reason for long absence from the country (UK) except for business reasons. I had a very serious medical condition and due to a very non-efficient NHS services, I flew back to home country for the treatments. In the end, I was away for almost a year whilst being treated.
Most logical response I tell myself is, its very unlikely to be considered but again I am no SME. So if someone can shed some light on this, I would appreciate

Do you have any supporting evidence confirming your medical condition was 'serious' - from a medical perspective certified by a medical doctor?

Do you have supporting evidence to confirm that NHS were unable to provide you due care and you had to leave to your home country for treatments?

I do have a documents from professional body outlining the medical conditions and the therapy adopted. Along with that, the xrays etc.
However, nothing from local nhs showing no dates were available for the operations etc

did you see your local GP and / or discuss seriousness of the situation / priority of treatment / options etc ?

Well, I had fever for number of days, not even a single prescription given. This lasted for over 15 days and then I decided to travel back to home country. And after arrival, in 2 days dignosed with very preliminary stage of plural effusion. Then came steroids, and operations. So it wud be fair to say, it was never diagnosed in the uk and arguably the life threatning condition prevented the return timings as planned.

how many times did you visit your GP?
did you ask your GP surgery to offer you an appointment with a different GP for second opinion?
did you try to visit A&E?

I think visited gp once or twice. Can't remember it was in 07. Didn't go to A&E. I mean there isn't a huge gap between my ILR via T1 on 5 yrs or 10 year long residency, its 3 months to be precise but just wanted to see if I could.

well, then you should wait for 3 months to get it done thru normal 5 year route as you don't have supporting evidence to justify your long absence.
