Hi Guys, new to this forum, please help.

Preparing to applying for ILR under the HSMP terms april -nov 2006 (HSMP JR).

I have noticed that I need to show 5 years p60s in the sticky notes. My question is although I am in full time employment now, but 2 and half years back worked as a contractor. As I was new and not good at it (contracting), I contacted a well known umbrellay company to sort my taxes etc. They gave me a contract and I become a PAYE of that umbrella company. So I was submitting time signed sheets to that umbrella company and they were sending invoices to the company I was working. 2-3 months every thing went fine, after that the company I worked for had some financial problems by their clients. They stopped payments, We pursued but it kept going. In short I stopped working for them and didnt get paid for rest of 7 months (unemployed). I kept pursuing them and they paid some of moneys direct into my current accout. (They money paid was under the taxable allowance of that year i.e 502L). So the information I got at that time was if my total earning in that year was less than that I shouldnt pay any tax on it and I didnt do any thing. Later after some time, I discussed with some of my colleages and they said you should have submitted a tax return no matter if it is under you taxable allowance.
Now my question is does it effect my ILR application?? Do I need to file a tax return now to clear it off?? Would I be able to do it now. Please help
