Hi guys

I am a british citizen and my wife is from India, she came here in May '10 on a Spouse visa. She has taken the Esol Citizen course which is level 1, is this enough to satisfy the requirements for her ILR? Does she need to take the 'Life in the UK' test as well? We spoke to the college and they claim it is enough to satisfy the requirements. Pls advise urgently if she needs to do another course

Sorry to be a pain, but this doesn't make it any clearer.

Does my wife need to take the 'life in the uk' test because she has already gained the ESOL skills for life certificate from an accredited college.

I thought that only skilled and highly skilled migrants need to take the 'life in the uk' test for ILR. Pls advise as I am getting conflicting advice from different people including the UKBA themselves.

As long as the ESOL course included 'Citizens content' and the course provider is on the UKBA approved list then your wife won't need to take the KOL test. She will need to submit a letter with the certificate from the college confirming that she has progressed from one level to the next.

is the ESOL course at ESOL level 1 or entry level 1?
