policy for iLR dependants, is it changing???

Is there any new law/policy comming into effect soon regarding dependants of ilr?
some one told me recently that the probation period is going to increase to 5 years and income level should be around 20k......is this true??

Yeah, these proposals are already in the parliament but haven’t become laws yet. The UKBA conducted a consultation last year and they were considering implementing the following for spouse visa.
• Minimum salary threshold
• Increasing time from 2 to 5 years
• Introducing new English test
• And some more minor changes which I can’t remember, but I am sure if you Google for these, you will find tons of information.

Is there some sort of minimum period UKBA need to allow between announcing changes and implementing them? Also I was under the impression that this would be applicable for spouse visas where one is applying for leave to enter. Will this also affect dependants of people who are currently eligible to apply for ILR along with the main applicant in April this year?

the changes are not going to take place in April this yearr.
UKBA has to give at least 21 days notice of any changes to the Immigration Rules, however in the case of the proposed/possible changes to family settlement, they are likely to announce a statement of intent as they have done with major changes to the PBS/work related settlement routes some weeks before the official statement of changes is announced.
I very much doubt that any changes will effect those who are already here on spouse visas or as dependents of PBS migrants etc.

given that non settled workers (i.e. tier 2 migrants) can bring their family to the UK on an income of £20,000 per year, and until 2016 can settle in the UK on an income at that level, and indeed that even after 2016, a tier 2 migrant with one child will be able to settled in the UK on an income of £35,000 (less if they are in a shortage occupation), I think the government would find it hard to bring in rules that would set income levels that would make it harder for the spouse or child of a person already settled in the UK to come here.
