Hi, I entered UK on 15th Feb 2008 (visa stamped on 3rd Feb 2008 ) with my family on tier 2inter co.(work permit ) valid till 03/2/10. I renewed the same in Dec 09 under the same category ( tier 2 PBS-transititional arrangement) and visa became valid till 14 Jan 2013. Since i can apply for ILR a month in advance before expiry of 5 years so my case was straight forward for IlR. But I switched to tier 1 category on 27th nov 2010 and visa became valid till 27/11/12. Now I am short by 2-3 months in order to get my ILR. Please advise if I still have any chances for ILR without extension of my tier 1.

Why cant you break it properly? for example;
1) entered uk on student visa from abc to xyz

2) on pqr date, make application for tier 19 etc

It will be easily digested if you do that.

As you will be short of the 4 yr 11 month duration,you will need a Tier 1 extension to cover the period. The UKBA view point is that it is the applicant's responsibility not to apply for visa changes too early.
