ILR Eligibilty

Friends, I am planning to apply for ILR on a 10 year(1st Jan 2002 - 1st Jan 2012) basis.
In order to check eligibility, I have been told to request SAR from Home office whether I am legally entitled for this application.SAR says all visas in the past have been submitted on time except one which expires in 31/10/03 but I have got it in 10 Dec 2003 through in person in cryodon office but on SAR no reason for late has been stated.
As per my passport I am 40 days late where as I am sure that I did apply my visa on time. SAR doesn't say why I was late and it doesn't mention any reason for late application and also i am confused if I was 40 days then why they gave me visa on one day service and without any valid reason?
Can you please advice whether I am still eligible for ILR application?
