Hello

I will be applying for ILR as Tier 1 in June 2012 this Year
Do I need to have biometric residence permit card before I apply for ILR?
My Tier 1 extension sticker is in my passport

Many thanks

is it possible to apply before ILR to speed up ILR process?

As far as i know its not possible to apply for BRP beforehand there are two scenarios the 1st it if you apply by post you will get the BRP booking letter in post and then you book a BRP appointment or if you are going for same day PEO service then they will take your information there and then.

no - it is part of the application process. if you apply in person, you give biometrics at your appointment. If you apply by post, they send you a letter asking you to enrol your biometrics once your application is checked as valid (e.g. correct form and fee). BRPs are issued when a decision to grant leave is made or if a person has lost their passport/has a replacement with an existing grant of leave. Even if you already had a BRP you would still need to apply for another one as part of your applicaiton for settlement, and give biometrics again. there is no other way around it.
