illegal married eea citizen, then eea citizen disappeared.

hi everyone, just need your advice about this.

friend of mine is illegal. however he entered into a civil partnership with his partner who is an eea citizen. after more than a year of entering into their civil partnership, his eea partner left him with nowhere to find. my illegal friend didnt apply for a residence card yet. so, there is no confirmation of his right to stay and work in the uk. it seems very complicated. but what is the right of residence in the uk of my illegal friend now ? what should he do next ? he still hopes his partner may return. but can he still live and work in the uk ? he only has an original civil partnership certificate him him. all advice will be very welcome ;p or if anyone knows of any good lawyer who can look into this case, can always private message me.

I'm sorry but to me it seems that your friend is simply back to square one, unless the EEA partner returns.
How do you expect to prove that someone is exercising treaty rights in the UK, if you don't even know his (or her) whereabouts??
