Soon to be expired EEA2 partner's passport

Hi,
I'm submitting my EEA2 application at the beginning of February, my wife's passport is expiring in May 2014. Can it be a problem?

It should not cause any affect on the application although at one occasion the application was refused in past. Better to either renew the passport or send the Identity card of EU national as a precaution.
