EEA 3 questions

Hello

I am Romanian and I have been living in Uk from Sep 2008. I want to apply for a permanent permit.

Sep 08 - Sep 09 I was a student. For this period I don't have an insurance.
In Sep 09 I got my Blue Card.
Sep 09 - Mar 09 I looked for a job without applying for Job Seeker allowance. However I have a rent contract to show that I lived in UK.
Mar 09 - Jun 09 I applied for Job Seeker allowance . I have supporting documents for this period
Jun 09 - Sep 09 I continued looking for a job but without the Job Seeker support.
Sep 09 - Currently. I had a full time job.

I have a few questions:
- do I need an insurance for the student period?
- is the rent contract enough to show I lived in UK?
