EEA Residence Card- Travel to Spain

Hi!!
I have a question regarding travel to Barcelona, Spain from UK. I have EEA Residence Card and my wife is Polish national. I am Indian citizen. We wish to go to Spain for a short holiday. Recently I saw that if somebody has RC, he/she do not need Schengen visa if EEA Spouse is travelling with you. Is that true? Can I visit Spain or Germany without Schengen Visa? MY RC shows that "Family member of EEA National". Anybody with recent travel experiences can shed some light on that.
