Confusion with my cancelled application. Help!

Post by AbbyO18 » Wed Feb 25, 2015 10:31 am

Hello,

I was forced to cancel my EEA permanent residence application online several weeks ago in order to have my passports returned to travel outside of the UK for a family emergency. I am a US citizen currently living in the UK with my husband who is a working EEA national.

When my passports were returned, they were returned with this letter:

"Your passports are being returned to enable you to travel.

Family members of an EEA national, who are not themselves EEA nationals, wishing to return to the UK should apply for an EEA family permit at a British diplomatic post abroad before returning to this country. An EEA family permit is issued free of charge and on a priority basis.

It should be noted that any such application would need to be supported by evidence... (etc)...

Please do not retunr your Passport to the Home Office until it has been requested by a caseworker."

Can someone please help me understand this letter? Are they still processing my application? If not, should I apply for the EEA permanent residence card, again? What should I do? I am so confused as to what they want me to do!

Your application is not cancelled. It's still in progress. If Your application is successful , your PR will be issued on an A4 paper.
You can travel with ur password and return without problems. Toyou don't need to return your passport to the HO. Ur application is still being processes without ur passport as they have seen that already
