Advise for Mother to bring UK as EEA Dependent

Post by john00084 » Fri Apr 08, 2016 12:12 pm

Dear Advisor,

I hope to receive some useful information on the process to bring my mother who is based in India. I am based in UK got married to my GF who is an EEA national. I am applying for my PR in September 2016 mean while I am making an application to bring my mother here as a visitor at first instance. I hold EEA visa as I am married to my GF.

As my dad passed away I am planning to bring her over as I am the only source for her for everything she needs. Please kindly advise on the best process to make application for her to stay with me here for good as she is an Asthama, sugar and BP patient and there is no one to take care of her at the moment and I am being the only child.

I am little confused as I am making the application by end of this month of April as I am not sure about the referendum about UK going out of EU or staying inside EU. Please advise on the application that I am making at the moment is a visitor visa for 6 months there by after coming UK I am planning to make another application for my mother to stay with me here on medical grounds.

Please advise the best possible way to bring her here.

your advise here will be highly appreciated

Regards

J

Sad to have to advise the UK route is almost closed to you due to virtually zero chance of success.

You could ofcourse investigate the EU route but due to the upheaval involved it may not be suitable in the case of a beloved elderly relative. Is parent from EEA or non-EEA?
Any history of dependency (financial/emotional) aside
from medical matters?

Asthma, diabetes and BP don't qualify for 'medical grounds'. Many people all over the world suffer these and are all fairly easily treated.

There's the option of returning back home to look after your mother. Have you considered that if it's so critical?

I am sure OP would have given consideration to that before coming to the forum.

What gave you the impression that he had not?

Let's wait for his answer then.

Given that the OP is the spouse of an EEA (presumably non-British) citizen, is it not just a case of proving dependency of the mother-in-law on her EEA daughter-in-law?

To the OP,
Is your spouse a non-British EEA citizen?
Where is she currently located?

Also, as you are here under the EEA Regulations, you should apply for a Family Permit for your mother, not a visit visa.
