Hi,

I am asking this on behalf of a friend.

Her residence permit is valid from 05/02/2014 to 05/02/2024.

Under Type of permit it states"Settlement"

Remarks it starts " No Time Limit"

Now she does.not know her status as her husband used to take of this and unfortunately they have separated.

Does she have Indefinite leave to remain? Or was she on a 10 year visa? Does she now need to apply for ILR? Due to the end date Coming up she is worried she will be illegal if she does not take any steps.

Any thoughts?

What nationality is she?
What does it say on the document (post text without personal details).

IMPORTANT! If she's an EU citizen she needs EU Settled Status!
Documents issued under EU rules are no longer valid, along with the status they conferred.
She may have no status now under UK immigration.

She is Pakistani.

She has no other paperwork.

Most of their paper work went with her Ex and she can't get it back.

I have the original passport with the original spouse visa clearance page. She came to the UK in Oct 10 and that visa was valid till Jan 13. Then the only thing I have after that is the current residence permit as mentioned in the original post.

On the face of it - if there's no mention like "Permit issued under EEA Regulation xyz" then I assume she has ILR under UK immigration regulations (though an image of the vignette should confirm that).

The status itself doesn't expire, it's the vignette that expires.
However, nobody will accept the vignette as proof of status (work/rent/bank/etc). Since 2015 old ILR stamps/vignettes needed to be replaced with BRP cards.
