EU Settlement Scheme for Spouse Visa

Post by moksudxp » Sun Mar 17, 2024 10:54 pm

I'm an italian citizen.

I got married on October 2022, and I got my wife a spouse visa and she's now in UK.
What are the next steps on her documentation? Can we use EU Settlement scheme to get her pre-settled and then settled status? (I have indefinite leave).
Or do I need to do something else? e.g. renew spouse visa? If yes, how do I renew and how do I know when it expires please?

I assume as you got married in October 2022, your relationship started past the cut off date (Dec 31, 2020), plus she's on a spouse visa, that continuing on spouse route is the most viable option. But just in case, please provide your relationship timeline.

Spouse visas are given for 2.5 years. You should check the decision letter to see the expiration date.
After 2.5 years, you need to renew spouse visa (and satisfy all the requirements, like A2 English test); next step would be ILR (also with requirements).
Hope that's clear.
