Family parmit extension

Post by mouhbei » Mon Dec 27, 2010 6:48 am

Hi, I am an EEA national (Cypriot citizen) married and my wife is lebanese, we have two children 7 & 3 years of age who also hold Cypriot citizenship, we are all residing now in Saudi Arabia.

Already obtained family permit for my wife valid for 6 months expiring in June of 2011, as we are planning to move to UK next Apr. 2011, where I will be seeking for permanent job.

My wife wishes to travel outside UK during next August for about 4 weeks, then return to continue living with me in the UK, but her work permit will already be expired even before she leaves the UK.

Will it be possible to have in the UK extention for the 6 months family permit?
Will it be possible to have an extension for the family permit from UK Border Agency abroad before travelling to the UK?

What are the best option(s) in such a case?

She may apply for a Residence card (form EEA2) from within the UK (may take up to six months) or apply for another EEA family permit from outside the UK.
