Question about EEA Permanent residence and naturalization

Hi,

My family and I (5members) are Portuguese's nationality and we are planning for permanent residence and so nationalization after been in UK for 5 years. I have 3 children, two of them are leaving UK to study in Japan for the past 2years.

1. For permanent residence application, should I include all the 5members or just the 3 have been stayed in UK for 5years?

2. For the naturalization, will we need to past any test?

The rule for PR is that you live in the UK five years without interruption (where interruption means absence from the UK during more than six months in a year).
So holidays and business trips abroad are no problem, even if they are rather frequent.
However, your kids studying in Japan are not eligible. Still nothing to worry about; as EU citizens they can come back to the UK at any time without any problems or formalities.

As EU citizen I don't see any incentive to naturalize to British Citizen: it would hardly make any practical difference (voting for Parliament is the only one that springs to mind), so why would you go through this costly procedure?
