EEA Family permit Help???

Post by enny07 » Sat Apr 09, 2011 4:20 pm

Hello there,

I am a non EEA spouse of an EEA national with RC. I would like my brother (non EEA) to join me in the uk.

My question is, if he is to apply for the EEA family permit, will I be his sponsor or my wife?

Thanks a lot. Cheers

Read the ECIS, Chapter 3 and 5 about dependency. The topic has also been discussed in this forum on numerous occasions.

The term 'sponsor' does actually not exist within an EEA context. The rights are derived through family relationship.

Thanks 86ti for the reply. The reason am asking is that on the part 8 of the form, "sponsor details" just wondering if its the right thing to do to put my wife or me as my brother has never really lived with my wife has one of the requirement is.

I think it should be your wife but if your brother has never really lived with her as you say he is missing a vital criteria to be eligible for an EEA FP.
