upper tribunal scenerio

hello, i recently send off my appeal to the upper tribunal and home office officers but i did not get any reciept or letters from both confirming that i sent off my appeal to them. is that the normal procedure?

and also i told to to send off the appeal document to tribunal and home officer people within 14 days which i did but i did not get any letter from the officer within that 14 days. is that the normal procedure ?
and also how long does it take to get a determination letter from upper tribunal ?
please any one have idea , ?
