I just returned from EU country with my wife holding an EEA4 in my passport. First thing… when I came through the lane with non eu/eea etc passports jet2.com guys asked me to fill me the landing card. I don’t find a reason why they were standing near the passport checking or IO. Anyways I told them I don’t need to fill and they said no because I am from non eea country and I don’t have an EU passport I have to fill the landing card. I said no I am not gonna fill it as it. Anyways the jet2.com blondie went to the immigration officer and bitch about me that the guy over there is not filling the landing card which I heard. I reached to IO and he saw my passprt and said oh that’s alright that I have a PR but AM I TRAVELLING WITH MY EY PARTNER TODAY OR JOINGING HER…. As fas I am aware I am free from this restriction now.
Second thing again the checkin agents are not aware that one don’t need a visa for a EU country travelling with or travelling to join his/her eu/eea partner.
Guys could you please provide me with the link or law where it says that I am free from restriction to be followed with or travelling to join my eea partner in the uk/ eu etc and I don’t need to fill landing card.

Since you now have PR you are independent and no longer dependent on your spouse as such for travelling (atleast coming back to the UK - travelling to EU is different). No one legally can stop you from entering the UK, this was one of those things where she did not have a clue about the rules

If you enter under the immigration regs 2006, you NEVER fill a landing card, not family permit, residence card or permanent residence card.

Hi Guys thanks for the reply no I didn't fill the landing card. I told the immigration officer that I don't need to fill it as I read somewhere that I don't have to fill it. And when my immigration was cleared I looked over my shoulder on Jet2.com blondie and gave her a big U smile. She couldn't have the eye contact with me.

Mate EEA4 is a PR sticker, which is equivalent to an ILR (issued via the British Route). This stamp should be sufficient and they cannot ask you to fill a Landing Card. Its as simple as that.

Hi Jambo I was told by IO in Manchester that people having Residence Documentation don't have to fill Landing card.

Correct. "Residence Documentation" is a term used for people under the EEA regulations. If you have RC/PR, no landing card is required.

UK ILR is not considered "Residence Documentation". Landing card is required.

Apart from not filling the landing card, the IO should not endorse the passport. You should be treated the same way your EEA spouse is treated.
