Comprehensive Sickness Insurance

Hello everyone,
Please I am trying to find out about Csi.My eea family member has been on jobseekers for a few months after been made redundant and now actively looking for work.My question is, Do i need a comprehensive sickness Insurance while my family member is on jobseekers?Thanks alot.

How long was your EU family member working for?

If the EEA national has been working for continuous 5 years (or more) in the UK, then he has automatically obtained PR status. In that case, CSI is not required.

For the OP, five years' work is great as Jambo said, will have achieved PR.

Also, in general, one does not automatically cease to be a worker on involuntary unemployment (there are conditions).

chaps hello,

I was just wonderinf if I can get some sort of help here?

I just wanted to be sure before sending my application,

My wife is not working as we have a 1 and half year old baby to take care of so I'm the one who is suppoting them.

now my question is, Do we all need this insurance or this is just required to cover my wife?

If you are a non-eu and with your earning you are supporting your family then self sufficient is best option for you to make eea2 application. But you need to buy private medical insurance for yourself. Partner and kids too.
