Passport applicaion for EEA child

Hi

I'm wondering if we can submit a passport application for our child directly (born in the UK in 2010) to IPS without going through the HO proof of citizenship application (the NS form which cost £88 ) ?

My Husband is EEA national. He's been working in the UK since 2001. He's got the RC (EEA1) but he has never applied Permanent Residency (EEA3).

I am non-EEA and the PR (EEA4) has been issued one month before the child was born. I've been working in the UK since 2003. I do not intent to apply for British Citizenship at this stage.

It looks like our child is British citizen by birth?

Can we send the passport application for our child with my husband's 5 year's P60 (2004-2010) + the child's UK birth certificate? Has someone got similar experience to share?

Thanks!

send yours pr confirmation, passport and child passport form with all documents and all will be fine.
is enough if one parent has pr before childs birth, yours is confirmed so I would go that way.

The child has citizenship because either you or your husband had PR at the time the child was born. In this case it sounds like both of you did.

If you have not yet registered the birth of the child, when you do it be sure you get a couple of extra long form birth certificates. Cheap and easy to do now!

Thanks for the reply. We do have a few of long form birth cert. (cost 5 quid at the time)

Just on the safe side I did give IPS a ring to confirm. Because in the Passport application booklet they only ask to provide proof of BC from one of the parents (which we don't have obviously)

IPS said I can't do based on the fact that I don't have ILR (because the PR sticker got a renewal date, to them is a "time limit").

I just want to avoid bad experience (long delay to get back passport or unsuccessful application + got taken £49 etc)

Has anyone send P60 for IPS to consider the application?

With your Permanent Residence Card you should also have received a letter (ECD.3114) which explicitly mentions that
any child born since 1 January 1983 may now be registered as a British Citizen
and
any child born to you while you remain settled may be a British citizen automatically at birth
Just include a copy of this letter with the application, and quote it in a covering letter.

Several forum members. See a success story here - UK child passport to a EEA parent.

As said already, you can also apply using your passport with the PR vignette.
