hi everybody

my wife is German and im south African we both live and work in the uk for over 4 years now ,we want to bring my 67 old widowed mother over to live with us .
I was told a few months back by ukba that she would just have to fly over on a visitors visa and then apply for a family permit here, now i see there are new laws and have to show she is dependent on us !!

we have not sent money to her because she was working part time but has now lost her job and cant afford to pay her own way now , so im asking for info on what to do and what i would need to get her here ???

can she fly here on a visitors visa and then apply for a residence card and what evidence of dependency would i need ???

No, she would need to apply from her country and you will need to prove that she is dependent (mainly economically) on you.

so i would have to send money over to her ? and for how long before they deem her depended on us and how much money would they deem fit ?

well just sent over a hour on the phone with the uk border agents in the uk and they wont give me any info because my mother is in south africa telling me to phone the south african agents , well tried that and they use a agent for all Enquiries called vfs and they say all info is on the website !!!!

so i got no info !!!!

please i would like to know if a get my mother into the uk can she apply here or not

and what must i show to prove she is dependent on me ,as she has only job and cant live
