I have been waiting for nearly 2 months after sending my EAA1 application.
I have sent an email (to NWCSU@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk) asking what's going on but it could take weeks before UKBA replies to emails.

What number should I use to call the UKBA to enquire about my EEA1 application?

Should I use the number for enquiries about EEA2 applications I found here?:

I would prefer a "normal" number since the 0845 numbers are expensive and the waiting times are long.

0151 672 5626 option 1 and then option 2, a bit of a hold but you'll get through - good luck

edit: fyi, just called them on that number. my waiting time was about 25 minutes.
