Hi

4 months ago I met a columbian who is legally married to an EEA citizen and lives and works in the UK. They are currently separated and will divorce soon.

We are in a romance and would like to travel in Europe or elsewhere and I wonder:

-can the columbian travel to countries where a visa is required (Europe) with me (I am from EEA and live in the UK), although I am not the "official" EEA partner?

- can the columbian travel to places where a visa is not required (from London) independently from his being in a partnership with a EEA citizen?

Generally in this situation the columbian cannot derive any residence or travel privileges from you being an EEA citizen. So whereever you want to go (together or not) the columbian will have to satisfy the visa requirements of the destination country.

I suppose she has a valid Residence Card, which does not mention the name of the EEA national whose family member she is. So you could try to pretend that you are the EEA family member instead of her estranged husband. But that is obviously a very risky strategy, and if you are caught out (for example if a suspicious border guard asks for a marriage certificate as additional evidence) the consequences can be severe. So I would strongly advise against trying that.
