EEA Family permit processed - Moscow. Puzzled !!!!

Hi folks

We have applied for EEA FP from Saint Petersburg on 23/08. This has gone to Moscow for consideration and I can now see the following status -

Processed application is in Transit. Not ready for collection. 08/31/2012
==============================================

1. We are obviously concerned - previously an email would be sent to state whether this is approved or declined.

2. I am puzzled by the timeframe - we are applying for EEA FP with plenty of supporting documentation that indeed (in the words of a number of immigration consultants based in the UK) is comprehensive; given my parent's adverse UK immigration history, a mere and quick decline would need to be warranted and studied in details. Quick processing times is hard to understand.

Any suggestions pls? thanks.

Only the visa section sends emails and not all do so. You are looking at the tracker on the VAC website which would never give an indication of an approved visa; merely that it has been received and returned to their jurisdiction.

You said that previously you would be sent an email saying approved or declined. That is not so; emails never say that a visa has been refused. In such cases (if any email is sent) it says the application has been processed.

so in essence, this indicates a refusal?

thanks!

ps in the past, i was alerted with approval emails; in all fairness, there were no refusal and i assumed the same practice was adopted.

No, the VAC receive sealed packages from the UKBA and are not aware of, and nor do they have access to, actual decisions. They can't tell you anything about the outcome. All the message means is that your application is on its way back to the VAC. At some point the message will change to say that it is ready for collection.

Not so Lucapooka. Here's recent one from your location.

Thanks for the heads-up. That is a brand new policy; never seen that before anywhere, let alone in Rio!
