EEA RESIDENCE CARD AND BENEFITS

Hi
I am an EU citizen. My husband is applying for residence. We have been told we can apply for tax credits, child tax credits and child benefits. but, we are allowed to some housing benefit but I am not sure if this last bit will put his residency application at risk.
