Hi,

I cannot understand the meaning of the following sentence defining the meaning of a civil partnership in the EEA Amendments:

A civil partner does not include

a) civil partnership of convenience
b) the civil partner (“C”) of a person (“P”) where a spouse, civil partner or durable partner of C or P is already present in the United Kingdom;”;

I was on work permit 2 years preceding my civil partnership. Then I got my EEA2 after civil partnership. Does this mean than I cannot be classified as civil partner under EEA regulation because I was present here before the civil partnership?

No, this is designed to prevent people from applying for a second spouse or civil partner where the first one has not been dissolved.
