I am an non EU and have a RC for 5 years as a spouse of EU citizen. I would like to invite my parents to visit me and my husband in UK. However because I am not considered as a settled person, my parents can't use the family visa application and should apply for the general visa. On the other hand,My husband is an Irish citizen. And I read somewhere in this forum that Irish citizens considered settled in UK from the first day of their arrival. Could somebody help me to answer the question, can my parents apply for the family visa, if my husband, their son in law invites them? I would prefer to apply for the family visa than the general visa, because the family visa gives you the right to appeal if something goes wrong.

Yes your parents can apply under the family visitor's category, it doesn't matter if your spouse is Irish, any EU citizen living in the UK would also have that priviledge.
