Unmarried Partner EEA2 Application Processing Time

Hello all,

This site has helped me a lot while I was sorting out all requirements for my EEA1 and EEA2 application. In return, I want to provide a bit of help if I can.

I applied for an EEA2 Residence Card as an Unmarried Partner of an EEA National. (I also included an EEA1 Registration Certificate Application for my EEA National Unmarried Partner)

We were lucky as we were 6 months shy from turning 2 years in terms of cohabitation yet I was approved an EEA2 RC. In other words, we have only cohabited for 18 months the day we sent our application. So, that would mean we had to find ways to prove we are in a "durable relationship akin to marriage". We provided substantial amount of documents to prove that. We sent everything we had in our 18 months of cohabitation.

However, our relationship reached 2 years the day we sent our application which may have helped in a little way. If anyone may want additional information about my situation, reply here.

We are so happy to receive a positive decision in our application. Thanks again for this informative forum!

Hi,

Congratulations on the quick turnaround! Would you be able to list the documents you submitted with your application as I'll be in the same position as you (unmarried partner, have fortunately been living together for two years though!) in a couple of months & it would be great to get a quick turnaround like you..

Also, did your COA allow you to work while you applied? I've got an eea family permit, but have heard that you don't always get permission to work as an unmarried partner on a COA..

Cheers
