What to do after EEA family permit ?

Hi,

Thanks for reading this.

I'm a non-EEA citizen married to an EEA national. I am currently on EEA family permit and want to apply for (5-year) residence card.

However, I've arrived only 3 days ago and don't have a job as of yet. I'm an educated individual and actively searching for work but it will probably take some time.

I want to apply for residence card in good time so that there is no last minute rush. I'm particularly bad with these things and usually postpone till end. However, this is a bit critical so I'm starting off early.

Any advice on how I, currently unemployed, can go about this application ?

Thanks,
Rho

Your right to remain in the UK stems from your partner so it's your EU partner that must be exercising treaty rights rather than you.

How long has your partner been in the UK and what does he do?

Hi Lucapooka,

Think I misread this - http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... cklist.pdf

My partner has been here for 2 years and works as a research fellow.
I got my EEA FP using the documents for the same.

Thanks
Rho
