If in EEA permit application, non-EEA applicant submits the original passport of the EEA national, s/he still has to provide the copy of passport endorsed by the embassy of the EEA national country?

I have another question in VAF5 application form.

There are some questions in Part 1 about length of stay, date of travel and date of leaving the UK. I dont have any problem about date of travel but what should I put for length of stay and date of leaving the UK?

I know the EEA Permit is issued for 6 months but actually it is only for entry and after that EEA permit holder could stay in the UK permanently if s/he still meets the requirements. Holder wants to live with his/her EEA spouse and therefore there is a contradiction:
-If I put only 6 months then visa officer could suspect of genuine marriage and intention to live with EEA national
-If I put Permanent and explain in the cover letter, visa officer may suspect that I only apply to get ILR.

I am confused. I put 6 months and "PERMANENT" besides that and then explain in cover letter that I want to live with my husband.

As you pointed out, the application form is not best fit for purpose. The HO just reused an old form without adopting it properly.

It doesn't really matter what dates they put on the form apart from the arrival date.

Yeah, I agree with you as there is no provision in rules for refusing EEA Permit because of length of stay!!!

Just put the real intended dates.

The problem is that for this visa there is no real intended date as it is a permanent route and you are supposed to live with your EEA spouse permanently. Therefore, what could you put as intended date?

There are many other problem in VAF5 form. For example in declaration part there are section regarding deception and 10 years ban whereas deception is not applicable to EEA permit and this route is not governed by UK immigration rules.

Either the intended stay is temporary or permanent it does not determine the case at all. If the purpose is really permanent stay then mentioning that for a normal genuine couple should not be a problem.

BTW what's the non EEA nationality? Are they aware that EEA Family Permit is not really required for non visa nationals?

Yes she is from Pakistan and therefore it is required.

Your intentions can be supplemented by a covering letter. Don't be a slave to the form.
