See Q2 in EEA FAQs - Common Questions - Read before posting - Surinder Singh.

Why do you travel by land? Wouldn't it be easier to fly back home?

And why you want to avoid applying for EEA Family Permit? I would think that in Surinder Singh cases, it is better to test the documents before you move back as it would be difficult to obtain missing ones from the UK.

There are certain circumstances where applying for a family permit can be a real pain - if a VAC is not accessible for example. If there is time and it is not too inconvenient, a family permit should always be at least considered.

agree with you eu smilewesmile. we are not in Rome and with kids going to world bridge office and waiting for out come its costly and we got no more time to wait over here in Italy .
and we have all documents with us tax company registration chamber of commerce receipts of business rent premises ,receipts or reting property ,Italian identity cards .business account statement etc, reports from charted accountants ,and despite that if something is needed we got some friends they can sent via dhl .
we will be leaving in august so not enough time for family permit .
and today we had a call so we might have residence card issued in 2 weeks also hopefully .
