Strange Situation - Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello,

I am in a particularly strange situation and was wondering if anyone could help. A few factors:

-I am married to a French national (EU citizen)
-He lives in the UK
-I have been accepted for a PhD in London
-I have been accepted as a "home" student rather than international because of my marital status.

So. I will be moving to London to be with my husband and begin the PhD. I have no idea how to go about entering the country, though. If I apply for a student visa that would clash with my home status at the university. If I go as a visitor and then register I would be breaking the "I do not plan to study" rule that goes along with that tier.

Can anyone help me?
Much appreciated,
U.C.

If your husband is a qualified person or has attained PR, then you may apply for an EEA family permit, etc.
