EEA3/ claiming benefits in the 5years qualifying period

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to apply for PR (EEA3). A8 country citizen. Last 5years period is Sep 2008 – Sep 2013. I was claiming income support for the financial year 2008/09. But in this period I was doing volunteering unpaid job and after that in Apr 2009 I started to study. I have been continued receive IS while studying for qualification improvement. Before claiming income support I had a full time job for 2.5 years. I lost my job unintendedly due to crime situation in the premises.
Will the claiming IS in that time affect my EEA3 application? Thank you

Why were you claiming income support, illness? Or as s carer or lone parent? Were you self employed during this time? Did you register for work under the WRS?

Normally worker/self employed EU nationals can claim benefits without affecting their PR because their individual circumstances will be considered. However, for students/self sufficient, usually one is expected not to become burden on public funds and requires CSI too.

I claimed as a lone parent. The police officer who was dealing in with investigation advised me to go to JSP (I didn't know about it and even had not received child benefit while worked that 2.5 y)
No, I wasn't self-employed in time receiving IS.. only took the volunteer job to be involved in the social life and for gaining new expereince.
Yes, I had WRS certificate. Thank you

The issue for PR is whether you were exercising treaty rights during the period you were claiming IS as a lone parent. If you had been claiming JSA then you would have been a temporary job seeker thus exercising treaty rights. Also, when you were studying did you have comprehensive sickness insurance?

Of course not, who knew about such insuarance!? (( BUT it was an adult education centre for qualification and certificates!
Do you think It would be good idea to wait another 6 months to skip this period when I claimed IS?
