Thank you for the prompt reply, it was really helpful.
So according to CBTM10120, family members of EEA National child are not subject to Immigration control
Correct me if I am wrong please.

Why are you asking the question? It is for filling in a benefits claim form?

Yes, I intend to claim child tax credit, CB and housing benefit. But I do not want to breach laws as it says chen cases are not entitled to benefits.
So was just looking for an answer.

Under Chen you are expected to be self sufficient and not to be a burden on the state by claiming public funds.

Yes, I know that chen cases are to be self sufficient. But my question was whether we are still able to claim benefits?. Because it is not necessary that in a period of 5 years in uk someone will not always be employed. and at some part of time may require state help or funds.
Some info on chen

Someone is not expected to be employed all the time but he is expected not to rely on public funds. That's the whole point of self sufficient. Being able to maintain yourself without help.
You should also be aware that the HO view is that DRC doesn't lead to PR (after 5 years) under the EEA Regulations.

The question is unreasonable burden and not simply burden .

Indeed Obie, as the OP was told
here, to claim 'in-work' benefits would more than likely not be unreasonable.

kreativzon wrote:Hello Everyone,
Do you know any reliable private health insurance companies where we can get cost effective CSI?
We are in the process of applying EEA FP from Portugal.
Secondly, does any one know what amount of bank statement is required for EEA FP - 2 adults and 2 children??
Regards,
Jambo wrote:It is worth adding that you apply under Chen as self sufficiency and CSI normally not required for EEA FP
kreativzon wrote:Ok, So what I understand is that for EEA FP CSI is not required but it is good if we add it, am i right?
And, when we apply for EEA2 from Uk then we need CSI right?
Any information will be very helpful for us at this moment.

Obie wrote:Are you applying for an EEA family permit or a derivative Residence Card?
You need to show that you have sufficient resource, and the child will not be an unreasonable burden on the UK.
Medical insurance and Evidence of Sufficient resources , and the source of it may be required.

Hello EUsmileWEallsmile ,
We are in the process of applying EEA FP from Portugal on
chen basis
My question is
1. What supporting documents are required to apply for EEA Fp to enter UK
2. is EHIC sufficient as a CSI to enter uk on eea fp?
3. What amount of funds would be required for this EEA FP?
Thank you in advance.
