Best Path to go towards Citizenship

Hello Everyone,

I would like to get an opinion from the experts in here. My story is as below.

I am a non-EU citizen who's holding an EEA2 family residence permit until 2018 February. My wife is an Italian Citizen who's willing to apply EEA3 Permanent residency in 2014 August after completing the 5 years while exercising the treaty rights as an EEA citizen. Furthermore she plans to apply for British citizenship as soon as she eligible for it. Most probably she will be able to apply at the end of 2015.

1. Considering the facts above, what will be the best option for me to gain the British citizenship?
2. Going through EEA4 (Feb 2018) to Citizenship? Or
3. Apply after my wife gain the citizenship (2015~2016)?
4. If I am following the latter option, do I have to wait another 2 years or Can I apply soon after my better half's citizenship?

Thanks in advance for your time and efforts spend on my matter.

Generally, citizenship questions should be asked in the appropriate forum section. If you search there, you will see the rules that pertain to citizenship - see FAQs to start with.

In order for you to apply for citizenship, you will require to have PR. This requires you to have lived in the UK for five years.

A complication might be that your wife proposes to become a dual British / Italian national. The UK has moved to prevent dual nationals from benefiting from the directive. This may or may not be an issue at all for your future application.
