Christmas Travel on an EEA Family Permit?

Hello,

I've looked around a lot on this (very helpful!) site and have found a lot of great info regarding my question, but am still not 100% clear, so I thought I'd just ask straight out.

I'm an American citizen, in the UK on an EEA family permit (my husband is French, working in the UK). My EEA permit lasts another 4-ish months, and I've applied for a residence card but have not received it yet. My question is:

If I return home (to the US) for a week for Christmas, can I return to the UK on my original family permit? I've read that I need to reapply for a new one before I can re-enter, but it seems like a bit of a stretch given that I'll only be in the states for 5-6 days. My husband may be traveling with me, but I'm not positive yet.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

First, your EEA Family Permit is a multi-entry visa so if it is valid, you can use it. No need to apply for a new one.

Second, as a non-visa national, the EEA Family Permit is not really required in the first place but as you already got one, just use it.

Thank you for your help! I got the FP because I am working and studying here, but it's good to know that I can re-enter without having to apply for a new one!

Thanks again
