Hello Everybody, first of all thank you in advance for all the help that you can provide me with this issue.

My case: I'm a Venezuelan national married to a British citizen. We where living together in Spain and we came to the UK using the Surinder Singh route. I currently have a EEA family permit visa in my passport that expires on February 2014. My wife is currently fully employed with permanent contract in the UK and I'm currently doing a Masters Degree (full time student for 2 years). We are looking into applying for my Residence Card, but we have doubts about the "comprehensive sickness insurance" requirement. As a student I understand that I'm cover by the NHS, so does my wife. Is that not sufficient? we need to get a private insurance for both of us, only for me? I cannot find clear information about this subject in the UKBA site.

Also I wanted to ask you for tips and recommendations in what to include in this application (bank statements, letters, proof of address/marriage, etc.) to make this application more successful.

British nationals returning via the Surinder Singh route are not required to exercise treaty rights in the UK. It's the evidence for their activities in the other member state that is required (again and again) when applying for residence documents for their family members. CSI is not required in Surinder Singh cases.
