EEA3/EEA4 - time abroad?

Hi,
Just a quick question regarding overseas travel with regard to 'continuously exercising treaty rights' for an EEA4 application.
What is the best way to approach the EEA national's absence of about 6 weeks (spent on holiday in Thailand) plus a further absence of around 4 weeks (spent in Italy with her family)?
Timeline is -
January-March 2013 - in UK claiming JSA
April-May 2013 - on holiday in Thailand
June 2013 - returned to UK, not working
July 2013 - in Italy with family
August 2013 - returned to UK and found work
I know that she is allowed to be outside the UK for up to 6 months per year but how should this be addressed on the forms re: time spent in employment, self-employed, self-sufficient etc etc
Thanks in advance!
