Family sponsorship from EEA national

Hi All,

My family friend has been told by one of her relatives who is a Spanish National, who happen to be her brother in law, that there is some provision in EU law that he can sponsor her and she could have a five years permission to stay in the UK. She is currently a student.

Could some one please advise if there is any such provision in the law as she happens to be quite concerned.
