Dear All, my husband is from Asia and I'm from EU. We got married in October 2009 but his 5 years Resident Card was granted in March 2010. My question is how do we count the free from immigration control time( Permanent Resident). Is it gonna be on our 5th weeding anniversary in October 2014 or once his Resident Card expire in March 2015? Thank you in advance for all information.

Wedding anniversary assuming you have been exercising treaty rights for 5 continuous years.

Of course, it will also depend on whether or not he was in the UK for the full five years. If you got married in the UK this will be fine. If not, there may be an issue.

Thank you for the reply. We got married in UK. He is here from 2004. I'm planing to apply for UK passport for myself in July( 6 years of continuos employment) this year and wanted to apply for his passport in October(if my citizenship will be granted by then) as a husband of UK citizen...
