Getting British citizenship for EEA2 residence cardholder

Dear all,

After reading all those posts in the forum, I am a little bit confused with my situation. I hope I could get some clear answers for my confusion. Thank you all in advance.

My Portuguese husband and I got married in the UK 7 years ago.
I hold my five-year EEA2 residence card expiring in September 2014.
My husband didn't want to take Life in the UK test and get British citizenship (BC) because his English is not very good.

I am going to take Life in the UK test next month and would like to apply for British citizenship.
Here is the question.

The application process is long painful waiting. I saw some posts saying I would gain the permanent residence status automatically after residing in the UK for more than five years.

1. Can I skip EEA4 and apply for BC in September?

Or Do I have to go through EEA4 plus a year waiting before BC?

Thank you very much for reading and replying this post.

Regards,
Grace

Check Q1 & Q5 in the FAQ (link below).

You will need to provide proof of your husband treaty rights activity for 5 years.
