hello guys,
One of my EU national friend who has non-EU national partner had applied his EEA1 and EEA2 application nearly 2.5 years ago and all processed well and got the EEA1 and EEA2 card nearly 2.5 years ago. But now he checked his email account which shows an auto reply email from Liverpool Euro Passport Returns :LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk on 29th March, 2014 at 1.20Am and it is saturday. This whole email from UKBA is a generic message about return of passport and travel information which is just a generic template. What he remembered that he sent email to this email nearly 2.5 years ago when he applied EEA1 & EEA2 to inquire the current status of the application?

Questions:
1. Does it be deemed as fake email from hackers because the time is midnight and saturday?
2. Its an error?
3. Somebody tried to use his email which cannot possible because his email account was freezed and just recovered it today?
4. what else could be?

hi rather than assuming tell your friend to send HO an email or call the European inquires center for explanation .
usually when you send them email you get automated response .

Nobody sent/can send email as his account was frozen and today being recovered then he find this email. But presently no passport/application is with UKBA.
Its simply a generic email about the return of passport and travel advise without mentioning any specific message.

If there were issues with his email (being recovered etc) I'd just ignore it unless he has contacted them recently.

If no application is in process or not sent any email then simply ignore it. Computer database/directory store numerous emails and typing the first alphabet like a b c d can result many people addresses to appear from database. Maybe someone else sent email and auto reply mistakenly arrive to you.
