Situation:
Husband US citizen (sole provider)
Wife EEA
Children EEA and US
Current Country of Residence: Germany

My husband is looking for a new job. We are considering the UK. I am a full time mum, not planning to return to work in the near future. When my husband applies for jobs, it would be nice to advise them the he would be eligible to work in the UK. But until we are resident, it seems that we cannot say this? For Germany he can get 5 years residency/work permits based on the nationality of his children.
Thanks for your advice.

He can say that, provided he will be arriving with you, and on the day of you entry, you will hold sufficient resource and a comprehensive sickness insurance.

On entry, he will be granted a code 1a which will allow him to take employment.

and after that .eu citizen has to be employed, self employed, self suffient ,or student to exercise treaty right in uk .first three months are exepted .
if eu citizen is exercising treaty rights non eu spouse will get residence card for five years
so you should be one of above to get your husband residence in uk as eu citizen.
its not automatic right.
