Hi,

My Non-EEA husband received the following text message:

"Message from the Home Office. Our records show you may not have leave to remain in the UK. Please contact us on 08443754636 to discuss your case. Has anyone received similar message? What is HO Next step? Our Eea2 application sent 2 weeks ago but probably ll be regused due to expired non EEA passport.

The message must be sent by capita (Home office contractor). Therefore, sending them the copy of EEA2 application acknowledgment letter/COA can easily satisfy them. Moreover, if the non-EEA passport is expired then most probably the RC will be issued on A4 sized paper.

Thanks for quick reply. We didn't receive COA yet and believe that we won't get it.So do you think that expired passport can be accepted as valid id if there is no chances
of renewing it?

I guess that when the caseworker see the expired passport they will simply send application back to us. however i have a hope that it won't be the case.
